The leadership is the art of motivating s group of people to act toward achieving a common goal in a business setting, further this can mean directing workers and colleagues with a strategy to meet the company needs (Ward. S, 2020). 

Every organization, like every team requires leadership. Leadership allows managers to affect employee behavior in the organization. Thus, motivated employees are one of the most important results of effective leadership. According to (Abbas and Asgar 2010; 9), successful managers are also successful leaders because they are influence employees to help accomplish organizational goals and achieving organizational goals.

The success of every organization depends on its employees drive to thrive through their efforts, commitment, engagement, practice and persistence. Thus motivation is important topic because leadership competencies include the ability to motivate employees as one of the critical duties or jobs. Leadership begin with the initial effort made to recruit new employee, proceeds through entire induction process and continuous every day until the employee departs the organization.

The importance of leadership to an organization, the quality of the manager’s relationship with an employees is the most powerful element of employee motivation. The relationship between leadership style and level of motivation within the workforce must consider every organizations.

Democratic leadership, also known as participative leadership, is where individuals who would typically be considered unequal by hierarchal standards have shared power in making decisions. (Cherry. K, 2020).

Everyone is give opportunity to participate and ideas exchanged freely, discussion is encouraged. While the democratic process tends to focus on group equality and free flow of ideas. The leader of the group is still there to offer guidance and control. The democratic leader is charged with deciding who the group is and who gets contribute to the decisions that are made.

Strong democratic leaders inspire trust and respect among followers. They are sincere and base their decisions on their morals and values. Followers tend to feel inspired to take action and contribute to the group. 

How Leadership in Employee Motivation impact Goldstar Company to Achieve Goals. 

The Goldstar is trading company located in Colombo and working over 500 employees. According to recent data the employee turnover is very high and there are large number of de motivated employees. The company is not introduced any motivational programme for employees. Therefore democratic leadership style introduced for Group members are encouraged to share their thoughts, further democratic leadership can lead to better ideas and more creative solutions to problems. Group members also feel more involved and committed to projects, making them more likely to care about end results. Democratic leadership leads to higher productivity among group members of Goldstar Company.
